Some celebrations take a whole weekend to unfold. Faith and Ivan’s did: a Thursday welcome night, a Friday rehearsal dinner with an open cocktail, and a Saturday wedding that ended in an after-party. These first images are a sneak peek of their Secrets Moxché wedding photography, and of a day styled in emerald green, burgundy, black and white.
Faith and Ivan met on a dating app three years ago. On their second anniversary, they got engaged. A year later, family and friends traveled to Playa del Carmen to celebrate them.
Getting Ready
When we asked Faith which part of the day she was most looking forward to, her answer was getting ready, so we let those moments unfold slowly. In the bridal suite she was surrounded by the women closest to her: her mother, her maid of honor and nine bridesmaids. We photographed the laughter, the small nervous pauses and the quiet moment when everything finally came together.
Across the resort, Ivan got ready with his groomsmen in the best man’s room. The mood there was calm, with the kind of anticipation that builds when you know the best part is still ahead. They decided not to do a first look. The first time Ivan saw his bride would be at the end of the aisle.
The Ceremony at the Sky Gazebo
Faith walked toward Ivan at the Sky Gazebo, surrounded by their families and wedding party. It was an intimate, elegant ceremony, and it felt completely like them.
Before the wedding, Faith told us her one worry was organizing family photos with such a big family. We took that to heart. The family portraits were calm and well organized, and they gave every branch of the family its place in the story, with no one rushed and no one left out.
Couple Session
While guests moved out to the terrace for cocktails, we took the newlyweds aside for a few quiet minutes. It was their first real pause of the day, a moment to breathe and simply be together. These portraits capture what the day felt like: romantic, elegant and completely theirs.
Reception in the Sky Events Ballroom
The celebration continued in the Sky Events Ballroom, where the night was full of meaningful moments. Their first dance opened the evening. Then came a tender father-daughter dance and a mother-son dance with Ivan and his mom. Heartfelt speeches were followed by the cake cutting. When the formal moments ended, the after-party kept the dance floor full.
Behind the Lens
Faith and Ivan chose us because they loved how our photographers and videographers work together as one team. On a wedding day, that makes a real difference. We don’t compete for angles or moments, and we share one rhythm, so the couple can stay present from the quiet hours in the bridal suite to the last song of the night.
