Some love stories begin with a boba shop date. Rhina and Sam met online in 2018, shared their first date in Stockton, California, and got engaged in the Philippines in 2023. In October 2026, they gathered about 80 family members and friends in Cancún for a wedding at TRS Coral in Costa Mujeres, and we had the joy of photographing every moment. It was a relaxed, family-centered celebration, true to who they are.
The day began in their suites with quiet details and candid getting-ready moments: rings, dress, invitation suite, and a tender veil moment between Rhina and her mother. Her bridesmaids gathered around her as she finished getting ready, while Sam shared laughs with his groomsmen. Then came the first look, a private pause before the celebration, followed by portraits with the couple’s daughters. Those frames, soft and unhurried, are the kind a family keeps for generations.
A Ceremony Full of Meaning at Gravity Terrace
At 4:30 PM, guests gathered at Gravity Terrace for a ceremony rich in tradition. The veil ceremony and the infinity rope, presented by their godparents, symbolized unity and a bond without end. Candles were lit, vows and rings were exchanged, and the breaking of the glass honored the Jewish tradition. Cocktail hour followed on the same terrace, with family portraits, wedding party photos, and relaxed candids of guests mingling in the afternoon light.
An Evening at Poseidon Crystal Ballroom
For the reception, everyone moved to the Poseidon Crystal Ballroom at Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres. The grand entrance and first dance set a joyful tone, followed by heartfelt speeches and a moment to honor the loved ones who could not be there. Over dinner, we captured the details of the room and the laughter at every table. Parents’ dances came next, and then the dance floor opened for the Hora, with the couple lifted high as the room clapped along.
